Gannet are no longer using freelance contributors so my career as a feature writer and exhibition reviewer has come to an end. Gannet always had good value from me because they syndicated lots of my features. You can see some of them on this York Press site. It is so sad to see Oxfordshire Limited Edition which won awards most years becoming just a life style journal with what looks like 70 percent advertising . I was pleased that I was allowed to end Oxford Castaways in a dignified manner.

After I had returned to some amazing castaways to record what they had done after my interview about their lives and choice of castaway books art and objects , OLE ended the series with me.
It felt strange being interviewed by Philip Hind! I discovered what I had put my 120 castaways through.
