Partition voices: British Indians tell the story of the trauma of the partition of India. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08z9p9w
For the Madras Courier I tell the story of my Hindu husband’s family’s experience of partition and voice the opinion that the British Government washed its hands of India and that negligence resulted in violence. In these times when some people exhibit nostalgia for empire the whole story should be told.

I am currently working on a novel half set in Oxford and half in India in the late nineties. It is closer to my own experience than Brushstrokes in Time and has plenty of humor despite some dark moments. I explore – I hope with subtlety – the challenges and rewards of a mixed relationship . Using a parallel fictional historical story set against real events during the Raj, I examine the relationship between England and India.
